Sustainability

LMS is dedicated to driving sustainability through purposeful action that benefits our planet, its people and future generations.

Sustainability is about meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations.

The concept ofsustainability is composedof three parts: economic, environmental, and social. LMS promotes sustainability through various actions and behaviours, such as decreasing waste, conserving energy, looking for ways to reduce our carbon emissions, supporting measures to enhance biodiversity, encouraging employees to be more environmentally minded, and supporting organisations that work toward a more sustainable future.

We have a dedicated Green Team, which is made up of several employees across LMS. They continually review our environmental performance, ensuring that we search for ways to improve, further reducing our impact on the planet.

We advocate transparency; therefore, when it comes to sustainability, we want tangible results. This is why we proactively work in partnership with third-party platforms, such as EcoVadis andCDP

Net Zero

We are committed to managing and reducing our total Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to net zero by 2050, aligning with the 2019 amendment to the UK’s Climate Change Act. This commitment is to combat climate change, accelerating and intensifying the actions and investments needed for a sustainable low carbon future.

“Net zero” means achieving a state where the greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted do not exceed the gases being removed from the atmosphere – so that the overall balance is zero!

The Paris Agreement’s central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change, and to keep a global temperature rise this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels while pursuing efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

Science-based targets are a clearly defined pathway for companies to reduce GHG emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof business growth

LMS is now developing our plan to achieve net zero by 2050. As part of this, we’re developing a set of intermediate science-based targets for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions aligned to the methodologies of the Science-based Target Initiative (SBTi).

As we progress, we are constantly refining our approach to our net zero strategy, especially as we gather more data to support our plans. We also acknowledge that achieving our net zero targets involves numerous variables and uncertainties that are outside of our influence, such as policy makers, governments, and suppliers.

In April 2025, we obtained Bronze Level Certification from Investors in the Environment (iiE), which reflects our efforts towards net zero and other sustainability actions and behaviours we’ve implemented as a business.

Managing our impacts

Most of our own impacts are from office-based operations.

Our scope 1 emissions are from fuel used for heating our offices, hot water, and air conditioning equipment.

Our scope 2 emissions are from the electricity to power and cool our office. In March 2024, we moved to the purchase of electricity from renewable sources.

Our scope 3 emissions are from combustion engine vehicles used by employees for business travel, waste management, and water.
